CCSW Board

All five CCSW board members reflect over 150 years of State Service combined.

 

These are the officers that represent the organization:

PRESIDENT: Lisa LaPorta

Currently, Lisa is a Parole Agent I having 21 years of State Service. Lisa has worked at two State prisons: Sierra Conservation Center and Deuel Vocational Center. Lisa also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Pacific with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Criminal Justice. She is currently assigned to Fugitive Apprehension.

VICE-PRESIDENT/TREASURER: Johnny Chavez

Johnny is retired Correctional Officer with 23 years service of State Service. Johnny has worked at two State prisons: Deuel Vocational Center and Sierra Conservation Center. Prior to State Service, he served his country as a Corporal with the United States Marine Corps in the Philippines for five years.

SECRETARY: Danny Serrano

Danny brings 25 years of state service as a Correctional Officer.  He retired as a Senior Correctional Officer.  He served with distinction at California Medical Facility and was one of the first officers assigned to Pelican Bay (a Level 4 Prison which was classified to house the most dangerous inmates). Danny finished his tour as an officer at Mule Creek State Prison.

BOARD MEMBER: Janice Leach-Banks

Janice is a retired Correctional Lieutenant with 39 years of State Service. She has worked at three State prisons: California Men’s Colony, Northern California Women’s Facility, and Sierra Conservation Center. Currently, Janice is a Retired Annuitant OA1 for the Adult Parole Board.

BOARD MEMBER: Fred Everly

Fred has over 37 years experience in working with Correctional Law Enforcement, retiring as an Associate Warden. He has worked at five major institutions and was a lead instructor with the CDCR’s Management and the Lieutenants’ training programs at the CDCR Training Academy.  Fred has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois in Political Science and has a Master’s Degree from San Jose State University in Administration of Justice and Correctional Management. Fred retired from the United States Army Reserves in 2009 with over 40 years in Active and Reserves Service. He still actively involved with the United States Army Warrant Officers’ Association and is a life member of the United States Reserve Officers’ Association.
